Upstage is a Korean AI startup famous for its large-scale domestic language model Solar and its document processing AI, Document AI. It was founded by CEO Kim Seong-hoon, who led Naver's AI research, and researchers who have won awards at world-class AI competitions, and is considered one of the leading domestic AI companies with technological capabilities.

Solar attracted attention for its efficiency in delivering high performance in a small size, and at the time of its release, it ranked high in the global open model rankings, showing the presence of Korean AI. Document AI, which accurately extracts tables and letters from documents, is being widely introduced in domestic corporate fields such as finance and insurance. We are active in overseas expansion, including in the U.S., and in domestic AI projects in the public sector.

Rather than competing head-on with the global model of large capital, our strategy is to compete with efficient models and industry-specific solutions.
