A code editor with built-in AI. Vibe is the development tool at the center of the coding boom.
It is a code editor that integrates AI deeply into the editor, developed by American startup Anysphere. It provides code auto-completion as well as an agent function to edit multiple files at once through conversation.
It is popular with developers who want to develop quickly with AI and those who try so-called vibe coding, which involves developing by verbally explaining what you want to create. A free trial is available, but full use is a paid subscription.
It is built based on VS Code, a widely used editor, so it is easy for existing developers to switch. It competes with GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, etc.
✅ Strengths
- The agent function that handles modifications across multiple files through dialogue is powerful
- Since it is based on VS Code, existing extensions and settings can be used almost as is
- Auto-completion speed and quality are evaluated as good
⚠️ Limits
- A paid subscription is required for full use
- If AI-generated code is stacked without verification, quality control may become difficult
- Additional costs may be incurred if usage is high
