Cognition is an American startup that developed Devin, which claims to be an AI software engineer. Devin attracted a lot of attention as it was introduced as an autonomous coding agent that goes beyond simply recommending code, and makes plans, writes code, and even performs tests when given assignments.

It is considered a company that symbolizes the transition from AI that helps developers to AI that replaces developers.
