Anthropic is an American AI company that develops conversational AI Claude. It was founded by siblings Dario and Daniela Amodei, researchers from OpenAI, and from the beginning, AI safety research has been the company's core identity.
OpenAI is considered one of the few companies, along with Google, to create cutting-edge AI models. In particular, Claude is well-received for its natural writing and coding skills, and is strong in the coding AI field with developer tools such as Claude Code. We have been researching and publishing safety techniques such as Constitutional AI, which teaches AI to avoid harmful answers on its own.
It has received large investments from Amazon and Google, and is evaluated to be particularly strong in the enterprise API market rather than the consumer market. It is a company that actively speaks out in AI regulation discussions.
