Amazon
Amazon operates AWS, a major cloud platform for AI infrastructure, and is also a major investor in Anthropic.
Amazon is the world's largest e-commerce company and an American company that supports a significant portion of the world's Internet infrastructure through its cloud service AWS (Amazon Web Services). Since numerous AI startups and services run on AWS, it can be said to be a company that provides the infrastructure for the AI boom.
Amazon entered the AI competition in earnest by investing heavily in Anthropic, the creator of Claude. We are trying to reduce our dependence on NVIDIA by operating a Bedrock service that allows us to select and use AI models from multiple companies on AWS, and by developing our own AI chips (Trainium and Inferentia).
We have been working on consumer AI for a long time, such as voice assistant Alexa and unmanned store technology, but in the chatbot competition, our presence is evaluated as weaker than OpenAI or Google. Instead, we are taking a strategy of influencing the overall AI ecosystem through infrastructure and investments.

- It has secured partnerships with top AI models through investments in Anthropic
- It is increasing cost competitiveness by developing its own AI chips
- It has a huge business of its own to apply AI, such as e-commerce and logistics.
⚠️ Limits
- There is an evaluation that the presence of self-developed AI models is weaker than that of competing big techs
- There is a lack of clear hits in consumer AI services
- Microsoft and Google are chasing after them in the cloud market.
